• Oracle and Emirates Team New Zealand race past Alcatraz Island.
  • Luna Rossa at Alameda Point
  • Oracle USA and baby optis
  • America's Cup Alameda
  • Wing trimmer making some last minute adjustments for Luna Rossa.

That was fun. Alameda is ready to do it again.

Within days of Oracle USA winning AC33 off the coast of Spain in 2010, Alamedans sprang into action. Local sailing enthusiasts, maritime businesses, and city reps formed the America's Cup Ad Hoc Committee to help Alameda benefit from the 34th America's Cup on San Francisco Bay.
Artemis and Luna Rossa -- two of the three challengers for AC34 -- set up their bases at Alameda Point. The team families lived in our neighborhoods and went to our schools. We shared community events and helped Alameda maritime and hospitality businesses benefit from the America's Cup. You can watch our final report presentation here.
AC35 is sadly being held elsewhere so we are on hiatus. Next time an America's Cup or other high profile regatta comes to San Francisco Bay, we are ready to help!
