How to watch the America's Cup in the Bay Area

Americas Cup - how to watch in San Francisco

For the most part, AC34 race days on San Francisco Bay will be very similar to Fleet Week. A large perimeter of the bay will be staked out with viewing areas along the perimeter. Prime viewing areas from land (free and premium options) include Crissy Field and the Marina Green.

Thousands will be watching from boats along this perimeter (just like Fleet Week.) If you don't have your own superyacht, you should be able to get onto a charter boat. Many charters (large and small) will be embarking from Alameda's harbors.

The official organizers are also setting up jumbotrons at Crissy Field, Marina Green, Aquatic Park*, Pier 27 (central hub of race activity), Justin Herman Plaza, Civic Center, and Union Square. More could be set up... perhaps even here in the East Bay?

Plans are still in flux but Treasure Island might become a "second row" option to watch the races.
